::30 Days:: Day 1

The day started with happy face pancakes for the girls...

Then a trip to the local orchard, where unfortunately, we weren't allowed to pick our own apples, but you could buy apples by the bushel-full. 2 bushels of apples came home with us...

Then I went to a friend's place to pick up the older 2 girls that went with daddy to cut logs for firewood. She planted waterlilies in the pond and the flowers are starting to bloom! Pretty!

The day ended with Hubby stacking the cut logs out back, ready to be split into firewood.

You may not have much money, but you are giving your children a lot of rich experiences. :)

oh I'm so glad you started! Blogger won't let me post pictures so I'm a few days behind, oh well.
I really especially love the water lily...how lovely.

Oh what a gorgeous wonderful family day. Love the pancakes, how'd you do the faces? With a knife? At what point in the cooking? xo

I can see that you and your family are leading a very enriched lifestyle, know the meaning of "living" closer to nature, appreciate the interrelationship between just about everything. That is very quickly becoming rare in 21st century, especially in America which is heavily influenced by technology.

Mishkazena-- I try! I want them to know that you don't always need money to do things.

Summer-- I'm having fun with this project! I've only just begun, but I am carrying around the camera, which is something I don't usually do and I am catching those special moments. I'm enjoying your photos, too!

Dj-- Happy face pancakes are easy! Take a spoon and drop a bit of pancake batter for the eyes and then another spoonful for the line of the mouth, then pour more batter right on top and make a circle like usual. When you flip it, there's the face! Gotta work quick or the eyes and smile burn. Let me know if that's a clear description for you.

Karen-- I never was one of those "high-tech" people, and I think I've always been down to earth. I hope I can pass it on to my children.

Pixie-- I don't think I could do all this if I was a single mother. I'd be lost without my husband, he makes all the difference in the way he supports me and encourages me. We support each other and if I didn't have him in my corner, well, I would be too pooped to do some of this stuff. I hope you are having a better time of it now.
