Drumroll Please...

I have been bubbling with certain information that I could not share for awhile now. First it was a matter of checking to make sure and then it was a matter of telling people in person so they don't find out by reading it here. Now that I have checked and double-checked, told all the major family members, I can finally share it here.

We are expecting baby #4.

It caught us by surprise. While we were busy working at the store and oohing and ahhing over the cutest baby clothes, teasing Hubby, "this is too cute! Let's go in the back and make another one!" While enduring yet another painful visit from Aunt Flo and begging Hubby, "get me pregnant so I don't have to deal with Aunt Flo for at least 9 months!" Be careful what you wish for, it just might come true!

This would also explain my roller coaster of emotions these past few weeks: Hubby's lack of a job, tight money, Christmas coming, baby on the way, hormones running rampant, to name a few.

We have made our peace and have accepted the responsibility of having baby #4. We never did say we were done after Youngest got here and I always thought 4 kids would be fun. Thankfully, I still have most of our baby things: the crib, highchair and stroller, and will only need to get an infant car seat and clothing for a newborn. I have the store in the spring to get the things I will need when baby gets here in the summer and I am not worried about the material things.

If Hubby doesn't find a job with insurance benefits, then I will probably have another home birth like I did with Youngest. I will contact the same mid-wife and I already know what to do and expect.

I can tell you this: There will be NO hanky-panky going on after baby#4 gets here until there is some kind of snip-snip happening first! As in, Hubby gets snip-snipped!

My estimated due date is June 28th, 2008. The girls are excited and have been walking around with dolls stuffed under their shirts and they are giving birth to everything from baby dolls to beanie babies. They lift their shirts to "nurse" their babies and go around shushing everyone because "baby" is asleep in the play stroller. They kiss my belly and come up with names: Rainbow, Carla, Sundy, Cookie, Oatmeal... There is one thing for sure, this baby is loved.

Hand-waving

No matter how many kids you have or will have.
LOVE prevails.

Congrats, pro momma!

P.S. Always love your blogs. I was born, raised , married, and divorced on a farm in Michigan. All this experience you told on your blogs provoked many memories of my farm- canning, plowing, picking, feeding horses, cows and chickens.. Mom is and still an artist. She made all kind of things for us during down times- little money, rainy days and snow in days.

Do us the favor, keep on blogging.

Bless your heart

awww so exciting! Funny but I had a little bit of a feeling this might happen for you soon...not sure why but it crossed my mind more than once and I wasn't entirely surprised when I opened this post. I will be sympathizing (the fun side effects of said condition!) and celebrating (babies are the BEST!) right along with you. Congratulations

Laura-- Thank you, thank you! This is the closest I will ever get to farming, but I admit, I would someday like to have a cow or two, some goats and definetly some chickens. A mini-farm! I think we all have gotten away from the simple life, including celebrations like the Holidays. I intend to keep blogging and I am happy to know you like my blog! :o)
Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Summer-- I wanted to tell you in one of my comments to your post a while back and I actually typed it and then deleted it. I didn't think it was fair to tell you before I told my family so I had to censor myself! :o) I wanted to say, me too me too! We're pretty close in our due dates and it'll be fun to compare notes. Too bad Wisconsin wasn't closer and we could visit while you were up there! (snapping fingers! shucks!) Have a GREAT Christmas!!

Yeah, if you are due the 28th of June then we are only about 7 weeks different. I'm due the 8th of May. I'm trying for a v-bac and seeing as you've had 3 successful v births any advice you've got I'd love to have.
Maybe one day we'll head out to visit Colin's family in Maryland...then WV would be a realistic stop...

Congrats to all of you in your family. It sounds like this new baby has brought all of you close together and given you something to look forward to. I am so happy for you!

The more you have the easier it get's. The older children are always a big help. My husband traveled and I can recall my oldest boy waking me in the middle of the night and telling me that the baby was crying.

We will all "walk" you through this pregnancy and it will be so exciting for ALL of us when the your time comes.

Four is a nice number. I had 5!

Wow! So happy for you! No kidding that baby will be loved. Even if your hubby gets a job with insurance I think you should still ahve a homebirth. Why give birth in hospital if there is nothing wrong with you or the rpegnancy? That's my opinion as a midwfie my dear. Blessings on you and your family and thanks for sharing this wonderful news. One last thing...have you ever considered writing a book on 101 things to do with your children on a 'rainy' day? I get loads of ideas from your blog and I would pay to own a book written by you on the subject. xoxoxo

Oh, wow! Congratulations! I have five children, but two of them are adults and my oldest daughter just made me a grandma, which kind of shut off the whole having more ;). I kind of miss the idea of having more, but it would be too weird for my granddaughter to have an aunt or uncle who was younger. I know it happens, but I still think it's weird. Of course a 40 year old grandma is a little different too ;).

I'm so excited for you! I'll enjoy reading all about your adventures ;).

Eeeek!!! This is what happens when I don't read your blog for a few days - argh! CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so pleased for you and SOOO envious, I would love another baby but we're probably not going to do it... oh I'm so pleased for you, that's so brilliant. And, I'm with DJ. I had a homebirth with the spud and it was amazing. Loads and loads of love!
