One of our chickens has finally laid an egg! I suspect it was a Speckled Sussex, as those two are always in and around the chicken coop. It's a little on the small side, but it's an actual egg! What a feeling to put my hand in the nest box and feel an egg inside the bed of straw! I'm so proud!* Go hens! *
Congrats :o) What a beautiful natural looking egg...
ReplyDeleteSave that egg and frame it???? Put a little hole on top and the bottom and blow the inside out. LOL! Put the picture of both chicken you suspect as background to that egg laying at their feet. LOL!
ReplyDeleteIm glad for you!
Karen-- It is a beautiful egg! :o) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTeena-- LOL! I'm trying to get a pix of the hen but today was a rainy gloomy day. Will try again tomorrow. :o) xoxo
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteLisa-- Thanks! :o)
ReplyDeleteYay! That's awesome! You'll have more eggs than you know what to do with soon ;).
ReplyDeleteI hear the eggs get bigger as the hens lay more. Practice makes perfect?
ReplyDeleteHands waving in the air!!! Wish we were there to see your hens lay eggs... another time... How many have you gotten so far?
ReplyDeleteStephanie-- That's what I hear, too. LOL! The 2nd egg we got was slightly bigger than the first, so I assume it was laid by the same hen?
ReplyDeleteEdie-- Oh I know, I wish you could have been here to taste them. So far it's been 3 little brown eggs. The girls cracked one, but the membrane is still intact, so it's in the fridge. xoxo
